You can feel different than you do in this moment.

I’m glad you’re here.

Thank you for taking a moment to consider counseling.

You might be feeling overwhelmed by this decision.

Take a deep breath in and let it out slowly out, making your exhale longer than your inhale. Ground yourself for a moment.

You are stronger than you know.

If you are interested in art therapy as a counseling process, I suggest contacting Alaska Art Therapy and Counseling or Art for Words Counseling.

I am not taking new clients as of February 2026.

My name is Carrie.

I am an art therapist and licensed counselor.

Land Acknowledgment

I live and work in the unceded territory of the Áakʼw Ḵwáan on Lingít Aaní, also known as Juneau and Douglas, Alaska. I acknowledge that Lingít Peoples have been stewards of the land on which I work and reside since time immemorial, and I am grateful for that stewardship and incredible care. I commit to serving their peoples with equity and care. I recognize the series of unjust actions that attempted to remove the Áakʼw Ḵwáan from their land, which includes forced relocations and the burning of villages. I honor the relationships that exist between Lingít, X̱aadas, and Ts’msyen peoples, and their sovereign relationships to their lands, their languages, their ancestors, and future generations. I aspire to work toward healing and liberation, recognizing our paths are intertwined in the complex histories of colonization in Alaska. I acknowledge that we arrived here by listening to the peoples/elders/lessons from the past and these stories carry us as we weave a healthier world for future generations.

This land acknowledgment was adapted from the University of Alaska Southeast’s Land Acknowledgment.
